Santa Barbara High School Computer Science Academy

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!

The Computer Science Academy started off the year with a great Kick Off event. Students from every grade attended and participated in several team building activities, modeled after corporate bonding events in the tech world (with the exception of the candy prizes)!

We are looking forward to another great year in the CSA!

Industry Professionals Visit CSA Mobile Programming Class!

On January 4th, Dr. Bryce Boe and Sébastien Cuendet, Senior Software Engineers from Appfolio visited the CSA’s Mobile Programming class. After teaching Python programming basics, they challenged the students to work together to solve online puzzles at pythonchallenge.com. This experience not only broadened the students’ exposure to Python and Regular Expressions, but it also encouraged critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. Dr. Boe plans to visit Mr. Muhl’s class on a monthly basis to continue challenging and inspiring our students!
